| Stagecoach London are now
taking delivery of seven new Plaxton Pointer
2-bodied Dennis Dart SLFs to cement their
contract on the 396. The Pointer body
doesn't look as good in modern Stagecoach livery
as the old Alexander ALX200-bodied examples did,
but the latter has now gone out of production
under Transbus rationalisation.
Barking's DM 347 (LV52 HJY)
demonstrates an alteration to the front blind box
to enable DDA-compliant blinds to be fitted, but
the fitment of larger number blinds used on the
company's previous ALX200s is no longer possible.
The side blind box has also been re-located to
the bottom of the window rather than the top as
on previous Darts. I captured the bus at Ilford
on a cold Saturday afternoon, 21st December.
The other
twelve of this order are going to Bromley for the
314, again displacing similar vehicles of higher
age.
