Having been a fixture for
some years on the rail replacement circuit,
Sullivan Buses are now running their first TfL
contract in the shape of route 383. Three more of
their favoured Mini Dart SLFs with Caetano Nimbus
bodywork are the 383's staple, personified at
High Barnet this afternoon by DN 5 (DN03 SUL). The
buses carry no logos or identifying information
until it is made clear just what sort of image
(or lack thereof) the increasingly
imagination-less TfL management expects its
contractors' vehicles to carry. The 383 has now
unfortunately lost its most important section,
stripping the picturesque Kitts End region of
buses completely and retrenching to Woodside Park
Station - Barnet Spires
only, most of which can be accomplished by the
263's direct routeing. Anybody needing to cross
the border north of Barnet and not holding a pass
will now have to board an 84 and pay the
exorbitant extra-London fares.
