The Potters Bar local is in the
news again, but no FRM this time and the 284
route number gave way to the current identity of
PB1 nearly thirty years ago. After a decade with
Potters Bar minibuses (first an ill-fated
Marshall Minibus, followed by two Mini Pointer
Darts), Centrebus have taken over. The bitter
pill of a hefty reduction in frequency (from
every 20 minutes to every 30) has been softened a
little by the introduction of this lone brand new
bus, narrow-bodied Optare Solo 381 (YJ05 XNB).
It is seen at
Potters Bar Station before its trip round the
estates, on a day when the whole town centre was
in a state due to the closure of Darkes Lane, the
main thoroughfare between Potters Bar and points
to the south.
