I can say no more about
Thursday's atrocities other than that Londoners
don't stand for things like that, and it's the
response to things like that that prove we do
have a soul and a backbone. Accordingly, it was
astonishing how quickly the Tube and buses were
put back into operation, and for the sections of
the Underground that will need to be repaired,
buses are filling the gap. The Piccadilly Line is
the most severely affected, with trains unable to
operate between Arnos Grove and Hyde Park Corner.
One replacement bus service links stations
between Bounds Green and Turnpike Lane with the
Victoria Line at Seven Sisters, ingeniously using
Olympians plucked from Ensignbus's sales stock,
while Sullivan Buses is part of a group taking
people in the other direction to link up with the
Northern Line at Finchley Central. On the latter
service is one of their more recently acquired
Titans, T 830 (A830 SUL), seen this
afternoon at Arnos Grove.
